I once walked the Yorkshire moors,
purple-brown; an awed, vast sketch –
only to recall, at the end,
the lone pheasant, red;
apple-stoic, fragile soldier of the grass.
Inspired by the interconnection of people with nature, Eden’s Ghosts is a stirring collection that explores our remarkable connection with animals and wildlife, suffused with a gratitude that we are still able to share this earth with creatures that roamed so long ago.
Delving into the wild beauty of nature in the city, alongside rugged landcapes that refuse to be tamed, these are poems for our times, reflecting on nature’s longevity in the face of human change, and how it intermingles with our own identities.
